Re: design

In 2024 I was the UI/UX designer behind Re: design, a YouTube series that redesigns apps people love to complain about. Each episode started with real complaints from Reddit and App Store / Play Store reviews. I picked the most common ones, redesigned the screens, and backed every problem and fix with a UX principle. The video team then turned my documentation into the episode.

Ep. 02

YouTube, fixed by its users

What if YouTube actually listened to its reviews?

Users couldn't hide Shorts, got nagged about Premium, and lost the search bar behind the mini player. I gave them a way to hide Shorts and moved them into Explore, cleaned up fullscreen with controls that auto-hide, and brought back full video titles.

Ep. 03

Figma, after the backlash

Designers redesigning their own design tool.

Figma's 2024 interface update split its users. I proposed 12 changes: panels flush to the edges again, the toolbar back on top, modes grouped in the left nav, collapsible property panels, and one new idea, a floating text properties bar.
